Using the death of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter to push a radical "defund the police" agenda, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has her sights set on eliminating the Minneapolis police department completely.
Though a judge has rejected ballot language about defunding the police, the city council is looking to quickly reword the document, harkening back to their June attempt to dismantle the police on Omar's insistence that the department was untrustworthy and bad.
"You can't really reform a department that is rotten to the root," the Congresswoman told CNN.
Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arrandondo forcefully denounces the proposal calling it, "unbearable." Arradondo is Minneapolis' first black police chief, and his job may be a thing of the past if Omar's wishes come true. Her dream is for there to be unemployed cops living in a city ridden with violence, with no one to serve and protect. Now that's a crime if I ever heard one. #Truthbomber
