Certified freak. That's what Cardi B calls herself in the hit song "WAP." Cardi, you said it first, not me!
"WAP," which is an acronym for an extremely descriptive, vulgar term related to the female anatomy, was a smash hit for for the former stripper, so why is she complaining? Well, apparently the claw-nailed rapper is now blaming "Republican influencers" for the backlash against the song. It's ironic that this liberal songstress can't understand why anyone would find her language offensive and a setback for women's rights. Seems to me that the "Republican influencers," who she blames for the drama, are just sticking up for women's rights, not wanting them to be hyper-sexualized or demeaned.
This is just another example of hypocrisy in the entertainment industry. Cardi, you can dish it but you can't take it, honey. Maybe the problem isn't with the conservatives? Maybe the problem is that people are beginning to demand more respect for themselves and women as a whole, and your lyrics are just outdated. Just a thought...maybe advocating for equality and referring to women as "bitches and hoes" isn't a good look. That isn't a right or left thing, it is a self-respect thing. #Truthbomber
